Vacation rentals fraud postings

As everyone is aware, the internet has more than it's share of fraud. It comes from two sides.
As a property owner you will receive an inquiry on your property. The person will want to rent but is going to make payment through a client. The payment is usually more than the rental and the scammer will then ask you to send the balance to them. After you send the funds, the original check will then bounce. The checks are usually international and take a long time to clear the bank. By the time the bank gets back to you might have already sent the balance to the scammer.

The other scenario involves the a posting to the internet of a vacation rental that does not exist. The price is usually to good to be true and the place looks beautiful. They are waiting for someone to send their deposit to them. The majority of these rentals seem to occur in a Big City specifically NYC.

So I am going to start posting these types of frauds to help protect potential renters.

A vacation rental conveniently located in the heart of the Times Square area . This New York City, Apartment within walking distance from Rockefeller Center, world-class shopping on Fifth Avenue, Grand Central Terminal, the famous Museum of Modern Art, and many of New York City's finest restaurants and attractions. Central Park and the Empire State Building are also nearby.

This one is a bit interesting; their IP was from Canada with a NYC phone that has a different name than the name associated with the phone number.

The Apartment is a spacious, floor-through 2-bedroom, 1 marble bathroom, exposed brick, fireplace in the living room and hardwood floors throughout. It is comfortable, clean, secure, and quiet.

I think this one is a fraud. They gave me an address of 142 West 9th Street. When I put that address into google it shows up in Brooklyn and they are advertising Manhattan. But their phone number is New York. But the guy speaks with a strange accent. But what is making me suspicious is that they are advertising under different names.

However, their IP is New York and their phone is New York. Go figure. I am just so leery of anyone trying to post a transaction regarding NYC. If anything does not match; I assume it is fraud.
